leaving traces
of yourself
at your heels
shards of glass
(like artifacts
left behind)
slashing at the hurting heart
stale bread crumbs
tossed aside
to eventually
find your way back
puzzle pieces
needing all
to finish
the melancholy story –
the stunning terrain –
it’s not about what was
or what is
it’s about what is to come
a trip down memory lane
magic words
illusions in cocoons
waiting their turn
to transform
to become
